Social and economic change must first connect urban and rural communities. Our purchases tied to common core values can connect communities hungry for social transformation.
The Dr. King 32 x 48 jigsaw puzzle reminds us to tap the empathy in each of us. Dr. King said, " ... understand your neighbor's story because we'll all in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. What impacts one community impacts all the communities".
It's time to close the gap on our differences. Let the urgency for change be the fuel that drives transformation. As a kid, I met Dr. King during his visit to Newark. He stopped on my block Fairmount Ave to help a friend whose family was being evicted. He was that kind of leader, busy—but not too busy to care.
