Among the Canneoids, most are born with 46 chromosomes. But for every million births, a miracle occurs—an anomaly. A Canneoid is born with 50 chromosomes, a mysterious fusion of Canneoid and ancient Humanoid DNA. No one knows how or why it happens, but with it comes immense power. These rare beings are called Protectors, and from birth, they are trained to become the elite defenders of Proxima Centauri—the Centauri Superheroes.

Each Protector is born with a unique superpower—some can manipulate time, others shape energy, and some command elements or decode genetic memory. These powers must be nurtured, guided, and mastered. To do so, the Canneoid Protectors are raised and trained in sacred academies hidden across three galaxies. Each location is cloaked, protected by layered A.I. fields and only accessible by traveling through dark matter corridors—paths that bend space and time, powered by their ancient dark matter engines.

These academies are more than training grounds—they are cultural vaults, sanctuaries of memory, and spiritual centers where the stories of hundreds of worlds are kept alive. Each trainee learns not only how to harness their gift, but also how to defend truth, preserve memory, and connect to the deep historical resonance that binds the multiverse.

The Protectors are shapeshifters, able to adapt their form and blend into civilizations across the stars. Powered by advanced dark matter engines, they travel at star-burst speeds through wormholes, leaping across light-years of space—and when necessary, backwards through time. Their artificial intelligence systems chart quantum routes and hidden portals across the galaxy.

Their mission is clear: protect water-based planets, preserve real history, and defend against the dark force threatening the multiverse—the Hellverse.

The Protectors believe that history is sacred. On every Earth-like planet they visit, they find familiar echoes: species evolving, cultures rising, and stories passed down through generations. To them, storytelling is the rarest form of truth—a cosmic gospel that sustains the multiverse. They record, archive, and share this living history so that Earths can learn from each other, and so that no truth is lost.

But not all worlds share this mission.

Deep in an unknown sector of the Milky Way dwells a being of pure chaos—the Quantum Queen. She rules the Hellverse, a fractured dimension brimming with monsters and sorcerers created to destabilize peaceful civilizations. Her dark purpose: rewrite history, poison truth, and erase the ancient records that connect the Earth-like planets.

She sends waves of horrors to burn down archives, corrupt timelines, and find the worlds where new Protectors are trained. Her monsters crawl through wormholes, cloaked in deception and destruction. She fears the Protectors, for their knowledge is the one weapon she cannot defeat.

The Quantum Queen draws her strength from ignorance and division. On Earth-like planets, she infiltrates political systems through puppet leaders—figures who silence teachers, rewrite textbooks, and sow distrust in science, journalism, and historical fact. These leaders detain truth-seekers, label historians as threats, and erase archives of the past. Their rallies echo with calls to bring back a mythic greatness, but in truth, they are building a world without memory.

As these false leaders rise, the Queen absorbs the energy lost from suppressed truths and disconnected cultures. She thrives when people stop asking questions—when fear replaces curiosity, and propaganda replaces understanding. The more history she destroys, the more powerful she becomes.

Her indestructible hair caught the wind, absorbing solar heat and translating it into power through a micro-channel grid no one fully understood.

Behind her, the new recruits waited. Three of them. All different. All dangerous. All unfinished.

“History isn’t written by the victors,” Zoe said without turning around. “It’s protected by the ones who remember.”

A flick of her wrist triggered a kinetic halo. The jagged black air around them blinked alive projecting an old Earth scene: a child holding a sign that read “I AM A MAN” in a 1968 protest.

The cadets stared, unsure of the image.

“That,” she said, “is why you’re here. You’re not just training to fight. You’re training to protect stories like this—before they’re deleted from the multiverse.”

Bendra flexed her gloves, fire building in her palms. “Why not just back it up? Digitize it? Upload it to a vault?”

“Because truth isn’t data,” Zoe replied. “It’s fragile. It needs memory. And memory requires belief.”

Justin leaned forward. “Someone trying to erase it?”

Zoe nodded. “The Quantum Queen has breached a timeline. She’s already corrupted the Brooklyn Archive Node and siphoned Reconstruction-era Earth history. If we don’t lock the next portal... she’ll rewrite everything.”

Bull cracked his knuckles. “Then let’s hunt.”

Zoe smirked. “You’re not ready. But the breach doesn’t care. You have ten minutes.”

She tapped a small device on her wrist. The twin moons darkened. The sky above them shifted. And the training terrace dropped—becoming a rotating platform over a wormhole chamber lined with glyphs older than Earth.

“Your mission: defend the living archive below this academy. If the Queen’s replicants make it through the breach—truth dies.”

The air split with static. The smell of burnt ozone hit.

The breach had begun.

“Zoe,” said Justin, his energy baton coming online, “you coming with?”

She turned and smiled. “Nope. But I’ll be watching.”

As the cadets dropped into the chamber below, Zoe looked to the sky, toward a memory she couldn’t let go of—her first mission, the loss of the Mississippi Codebooks, and the day she swore she'd never lose history again.
